Tutor

Creative Pathways, Inc, youth tutoring program provides supplemental services to court-involved youth at-risk for juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, truancy and academic failure, mental health and child welfare involvement.

Tutors will engage youth in individual, group and team tutoring sessions.

The tutoring program provides instructional support that enables the youth to improve, maintain and or excel in academics, attendance, positive behaviors and attitudes.

Must Live in the Washington Metropolitan Area

Part Time Position:

Tutor Responsibilities:

Go to the community and tutor youth in the home and school.

Conduct academic assessments to identify skill mastery and deficits

Provide guidance and structure in helping youth plan and achieve academic goals and boost self confidence

Establish learning objectives that align with school academic plans

Conduct weekly and or daily tutoring sessions as detailed in the referral

Ensure timely documentation and submission of weekly itinerary, objectives and outcomes

Maintain consistent communication with the program manager and probation officer

Follow all rules and guidelines as outlined by the program manager, tutor training and program policies

Accompany youth to court appearances, school meetings and other resource services as necessary

Collaborate with probation officer, family members, school and youth service professionals to review progress and development

Maintain compliance and confidentiality of youth records
