    Description

    Summary



    About the Position: Providingdiagnostic evaluations (and treatment in the most complex cases) for patients who are referred to the Pediatric Speech Pathology Clinic. Patients may also be evaluated for enrollment into the Exceptional Family Member Program.

    Duties

    • Conduct a program of evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders resulting from the full range of communication disorders.
    • Review patient's history and examines, analyzes and evaluates patients to determine underlying cause, precipitating factors, and types of speech problems.
    • Develops and prescribe speech therapy programs and goals and applies advanced procedures and techniques in correction of full range of speech and language deficiencies.
    • Maintain coordination of the total program with other professional services such as Psychiatry, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Audiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Oral Surgery, and Plastic Surgery.
    • Maintain appropriate records of patients under treatment and provides oral and written periodic progress reports to referring physicians.
    • Provide inpatient pediatric speech pathology services when consulted.
    • Select and administer appropriate diagnostic tests.
