THE POSITION:

Administrative Analysts provide responsible, professional staff assistance to a major office or department in the City.

They exercise significant management-level responsibility to coordinate the procedural and administrative aspects of a municipal program or set of related functions and perform specific and comprehensive analysis of a wide range of municipal policies, organization, procedures, financial system, and services.

Some assignments will involve tracking, analyzing, and reporting on benchmark data, as well as research and reporting on various aspects of projects, funding sources, and expenditures by utilizing databases and a variety of software programs.


CURRENT VACANCIES:


ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST - CONFIDENTIAL

  • One of our vacancies is a unique opportunity to fill a position in the City Manager's Office (CMO.) The Administrative Analyst
  • Confidential will report to the City Manager and provide significant managementlevel staff assistance.

Important areas of focus in the CMO include:

  • Complex, highly visible, deadline-driven projects-
  • Budget, purchasing, and personnel-
  • Attending Council meetings and following up on Councilmember questions-
  • Preparing City Council staff reports and resolutions
  • Due to the nature of the position and the office, this position is assigned to Unit 11, Mid-Management Confidential (not represented by an employee association or union.)

ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST
There is a current vacancy in the Planning and Economic Development (PED) Department.

Important areas of focus for the position in PED include:


  • Providing oversight of, and staff assistance to, the Admin Secretary team supporting 10 Boards/Commissions and Public Records
  • Monitoring regulatory compliance and analyzing, recommending, and implementing changes to administrative systems, procedures, and workflow
  • Serving as primary support for the Planning Commission
  • Assessing and implementing strategic customer service enhancement efforts of the department
It is anticipated that the eligibility list resulting from this recruitment will be used to fill future vacancies City-wide.


IDEAL CANDIDATES:


  • Demonstrate initiative, problem solving skills, flexibility, detailed orientation and have a high level of organizational skills;
  • Exercise good judgment in independent decisionmaking and management of projects and programs;
  • Have experience creating spreadsheets, interactive dashboards, graphs, reports, and analysis of information; and
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
