JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective


Exceptional Minds is looking for a Communication and Marketing Manager to support the marketing of the academy and studio in the areas of enrollment, fundraising, and employer awareness.

This role will take on content creation, social media, publicity, live streams, and event production, and will be a creative and strategic thinker about outreach, visibility, and communications.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Development, the Communication Marketing Manager will work with the CEO, Academy Faculty, Studio Heads, students, and staff to tell the story of Exceptional Minds, deepening the relevance and awareness of our work.

This role will be the liaison to outside vendors such as photographers, printers, and web and media support. A passion for the cause of diversity and inclusion and the ability to work independently are essential.


Essential Functions

  • Content creation for marketing channels including social media content, videos, interviews, and publicity footage to be managed and uploaded to platforms such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, Twitter, and TikTok.
  • Maintenance of Exceptional Minds' owned and operated pages including the company website, blog, social, IMDb, GuideStar, Google Business and more.
  • Responsible for orchestrating the organization of all digital files and materials for Exceptional Minds Marketing, including managing content calendars.
  • Ideate, create, and post social content including communicating Academy events and schedules, student work, activities around the Exceptional Minds office, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Responsible for interviewing students and artists on the autism spectrum for social and digital content including developing interview questions, creating videos and editing them together.
  • Tasked with making creative physical and digital assets needed for Exceptional Minds' marketing on the EM website, social channels, and more.
  • Communicate budget needs with the Director of Development and Marketing.
  • Identify and submit content for awards and film festivals.
  • Create presentation decks for businesstobusiness, e.g. education corporate audiences, solicitations of support, etc.
  • Communicate with team leads to align marketing with department objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders on approvals for all externalfacing content.
  • Assist with coordination for conference as well as attending.
  • Assist with managing Social Media Intern, when applicable.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent work experience.

Preferred Experience

  • 35 years of relevant social media and Marketing experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Photoshop, Abode and Google Suite.
  • Graphic Design background preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of photo and video editing software including iMovie, AVID, Final Cut Pro or other programs similar to these.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Dependability and an openness to learning.
