Information Systems Technology Services is an integrated organization formed by various departments working together to deliver top-notch technology solutions.

Position Summary

In this role within the Database Solutions and Deployment team, you'll join a project team responsible for designing and implementing databases. You may need to provide support on weekends and after-hours, and be reachable via mobile phone.

This is a hybrid position, allowing you to work remotely with occasional visits to the Oakland General Office as needed. The work location will be determined within the PG&E Service Territory in agreement with the successful candidate and hiring leader.

PG&E is sharing a salary range for this position, based on their good faith estimate at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on various factors such as skills, education, experience, and market conditions. While the expected placement is within the specified range, the final decision will consider individual circumstances. This role also qualifies for PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

A reasonable salary range would be:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

California Minimum: $112,000

California Maximum: $179,000

Job Responsibilities

Perform installation, upgrade, patching, backup, and recovery tasks for assigned Oracle databases based on project needs.
Configure monitoring and ensure databases conform to established standards.
Handle data refreshes and migrations.
Create database components.
Enforce change control, patch management, and security protocols.
Collaborate with fellow DBA team members on project deliverables.
Offer off-hour and weekend assistance as necessary for projects.
Demonstrate strong project management skills and independent task handling.
Manage projects considering cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
Maintain transparent communication with clients, team members, and management through regular updates.
Report project status, issues, and concerns clearly in written and verbal forms.
Generate comprehensive documentation for knowledge sharing and succession planning.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
5 years of relevant database technology experience

Desired:

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Effective workload and time management proficiencies.
Capacity to ensure reliability of database systems.
Adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
Knowledge of Oracle 11G, 12C, 18C, and 19C databases.
Proficiency in OEM, RMAN, ASM, RAC, Golden Gate, OUD, Data Guard Broker, and Data Guard Observer.
Experience with multi-terabyte databases and data warehouses.
Expertise in RAC, ASM, and SQL performance optimization.
Background in relational database design.
Proficient in Database and Grid Infrastructure binaries cloning.
Familiarity with DDBoost.
Skill in Perl, Unix, and Linux shell scripting.
