Description
This is a Part-Time, Non-Benefited, Temporary Position.
The incumbent will support the clerk's office Land Records Division's multi-year project adding land records (deeds, deeds of trust, plats, etc.) to its name searchable electronic index for the period 1865 to 1970.
The work requires computer and clerical proficiency, and the ability to be trained to index land related documents.
Successful candidate will be working collaboratively to add electronic document images to the clerk's records management system and indexing them by name.
The ability to read cursive handwriting is preferred.General Description:
This is a clerical position distinguished from Clerk II by the complexity of tasks that may be assigned and the level of supervision given.
The incumbent provides support services to one or more divisions of the Clerk's Office and may work independently on special projects.
It is expected that incumbent will attain the level of proficiency required to act as a Deputy of the Circuit Court Clerk in designated situations.
Organization:
The Clerk III reports to the Chief Deputy Clerk and supervises no staff.

High school diploma or equivalent required (college degree or paralegal certificate preferred) prior Clerk's Office or law firm experience or knowledge of Clerk's Office routine preferred - OR - Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.
