The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Augsburg St.

Jakob in Rockwall, TX is seeking a(n) employee (m/f/d) for the position of church caretaker and janitor, starting on May 1, 2023 or earlier.

This is a part-time position (5 hours per week) and responsibilities include preparing for services, baptisms, weddings, and events (setting up chairs, preparing the church space, maintaining worship equipment, etc.), cleaning, and performing simple maintenance tasks in and around the church.

Other duties include arranging flowers, maintaining technical equipment (bells, lighting, sound system, heating), and providing assistance to church members and visitors with kindness and helpfulness.

The ideal candidate will work well with the church leadership, secretary, church council, and volunteers. The majority of work will take place on Sundays and holidays.

While not required, preference will be given to candidates who are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria or another church or religious community affiliated with the Association of Christian Churches in Germany.

We offer the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.

The position is subject to the collective agreement for public service employees of the states (TV-L) and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
