Maintenance/Grounds Technician

  • The OutofDoor Academy seeks a
    _Maintenance/Grounds Technician _for the Uihlein Campus in Lakewood Ranch to join our facilities department.
    Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Campus Maintenance Supervisor, the
    _Maintenance/Grounds Technician _will be responsible for the following:
  • Oversees the upkeep of the grounds and facilities for both Campuses, LWR and SK.
  • Creates and oversees the meticulous upkeep of the grounds maintenance that keep the school's appearance in exemplary condition.
  • Continuously inspects campuses for safety, aesthetic needs, and corrects accordingly or recommends longterm solutions.
  • Performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites, including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks.
  • Performs a variety of work at various facilities/sites in the general maintenance of campus equipment, electric, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets. Performs minor troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, etc.

Qualifications

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certified required or must be obtained.
  • Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working with technology.
  • Selfdirected individual who is solution orientated, flexible and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
  • Must hold a valid Florida driver's license, CDL preferred.
  • Certification in the use and storage of pesticides preferred.
  • Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred.
  • Able to multitask with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong verbal and organizational skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • This is a 12month fulltime nonexempt position eligible for overtime and available immediately. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
