Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Prepares or oversees preparation of all financial, statistical, and accounting records of the credit union.
Oversees and evaluates current products and procedures and implements changes as needed in the department.
Works with ES/IT to coordinate processing needs and assist with the creation of the new data processing system.
Works with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits.
Hires, trains, directs, and evaluates employee performance within the department; recommends promotion/transfers and salary adjustments.

Performance Measurements

Ensures the department meets all deadlines with respect to settlement activities, with minimal errors and no errors that result in losses to the credit union.
Ensures that the credit union's books and general ledger accounts are always in balance and current.
Maintains a cohesive, highly trained, and motivational staff, sufficient to meet daily accounting demands.
Develops recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing, and processes by monitoring trends in operations and deposit services.
Actively attends and participates in committee meetings and events.
Reports ALM Model assumptions/projections to ALCO and makes recommendations.
Coordinates annual ALCO training.
Ensures ALM Model back testing/validation is performed.

Requirements

Functional with spreadsheets and word processing software.
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing, or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
