- Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and communicate changes to the management team.
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and policies to meet the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to EHS policies.
- Design and conduct EHS training programs for employees to enhance awareness and competence in safety practices and emergency response.
- Maintain records of training sessions and ensure all employees are adequately trained according to their roles.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on EHS performance metrics and incidents to senior management.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to minimize risks and improve workplace safety.
- Foster a culture of safety through continuous improvement initiatives, employee engagement, and promoting best practices in EHS.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and occupational health and safety management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- High level of integrity and commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
