Description

Perform and analyze assays accurately according to the Standard Operating Procedures, including, but not limited to: plaque reduction micro-neutralization, neutralizing antibody, HAI Assays, ELISA, and PCR.


  • Maintain detailed records of assays. Enter and verify study specific data.
  • Maintain cell cultures and viral culture/titers (including immunostaining).
  • Process PBMCs.
  • Train and supervise all student researchers, lab technicians, and collaborators working in the EPI lab.
  • Assist in ordering and organizing other startup functions of the lab
  • Learn and assist in the development of new assays.
  • Receive, log, ship, and store specimens.
  • Maintain site shipping and storage logs of all specimens, including use of specified electronic system.
  • Maintain and organize specimen repository.
  • Provide professional expertise in the creation and revision of Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
  • Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies, liquid nitrogen, and dry ice, and request orders as needed
  • Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment.

Expected Salary:

$75,000 Annually


Minimum Requirements:


Preferred Qualifications:

We seek applicants with Ph.
D. degrees, significant postdoctoral experience, and an established record of accomplishment in research and training, including experience in BSL2+ training.

  • At least 5 years of relevant research experience in BSL2 and BSL3 research techniques.
  • Knowledge of the UF system and the requirements and approvals for working in a BSL2+ research laboratory.
