    Job Title: Associate Vice President, Public Affairs & Advocacy

    As an AVP within our Health Systems Practice, you will play a vital role in leading key client projects with the nation's top healthcare brands. We are looking for someone with a strong communications foundation, exceptional writing skills, and demonstrated project management expertise, particularly in areas such as political campaigns, public affairs, policy, crisis communications, and payer.

    Responsibilities:

    • Client Service
      • Lead clients confidently, ensuring program objectives are met and high-quality work is delivered on time and within budget
      • Establish strategic communications and engagement efforts, working with the team to finalize client deliverables
      • Develop key client strategies and plans, contributing to budget development
      • Identify opportunities for growth within existing clients and serve as a trusted advisor
      • Consult with practice leadership on client issues as necessary
    • Internal Client Team Management
      • Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement within the team
      • Provide daily team advising and supervision
      • Participate in monthly/weekly staff planning and tracking
    • Business Development
      • Participate in new business pitches and identify opportunities for additional value to existing clients
      • Leverage networks for firm visibility and contribute to firm thought leadership activities
    • Firm Management
      • Model and teach best practices in client management
      • Participate in firm management meetings and discussions
      • Contribute to billable goals and develop ideas for team growth and development
    • People Development
      • Mentor colleagues, guide career development, and ensure proficiency in all firm services
      • Assist in recruiting and retaining top talent
      • Participate in Jarrard Academy and support team participation

    Qualifications and Desired Skills:

    To excel in this role, you should have proven experience in healthcare, public affairs, policy, crisis communications, or payer areas. A background in communications, public affairs, political campaigns, or professional services focusing on healthcare is preferred. Additionally, you should have 8-10 years of relevant experience and the ability to work remotely.
