- Plan, organize, and supervise recreation activities associated with the Summer Day Camp program.
- Supervise youth attending the camp.
- Operate within the guidelines of budgets.
- Ensure adherence to operational policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain reports, records, and equipment inventory.
- Explain and enforce rules and regulations.
- Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid, lawful driver license is required at time of appointment.
- Preference given to candidates with post-secondary education in recreation or closely related field or one year of experience in recreation program management or youth recreation programs.

This is work in recreation program planning and organizing in the Parks and Recreation Department of Provo City Corporation. There will be one lead camp counselor and 3 additional camp counselors hired to fill these positions.

Pay Rate: $ $13.00 per hour. Payment will be by direct deposit.
Essential Duties:
Physical/Environmental Factors: This is outdoor recreation work requiring lifting of objects up to 50 pounds and possible exposure to adverse weather conditions. May include exposure to high stress situations or environments, including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances.
Pre-employment Screening: Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and criminal background investigation. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six months.
