Wilmington, DE - Nemours Children's Health, Delaware seeks a renowned and accomplished physician scientist to become the new Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT). The new Division Chief, reporting to the Chair of Pediatrics, will lead the division, serve as Director of the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders and hold the $5 million Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders. The Division Chief will work with the Chair of Pediatrics to direct the distribution of $30 million in endowed research funds. This is an exceptional opportunity for a distinguished leader who enjoys a record of scientific accomplishment and leadership to advance a thriving Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/TCT program to world class abilities.
Nemours Children's Health (NCH) has grown to become one of the nation's largest integrated pediatric health systems, providing hospital and clinic-based specialty care, primary care, prevention and health information services and research and medical education programs aimed at improving the lives of children and families. While this position leads the division based in Delaware, treating patients throughout the Delaware Valley, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania; collaborative opportunities exist across the enterprise, including locations in Florida.
NCH is ranked as one of the country's Best Children's Hospitals and the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders is ranked as one of the country's Top Pediatric Cancer Centers as per US News & World Report. This excellence is mostly accredited to their excellent rankings in five-year cancer survival, post bone marrow transplant survival, advanced clinical services and treatment and exceptional nursing and clinical support services. More than just a new name, the newly formed Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders () will drive new opportunity for pediatric cancer and blood disorder care at NCH. The foundation has pledged a $78 million donation in the support of new programs that improve ways to treat pediatric cancer and blood disorders.
The Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/TCT will be instrumental in leading and expanding the current program both clinically and scientifically. He/she will build upon a group with a strong foundation and history. NCH and the Moseley Foundation Institute are committed to providing comprehensive state-of-the-art patient care. He/she will lead and build the current division, enhance current research and clinical trials, and grow the program through the recruitment of new faculty and superior clinical practice.
This leader should have a robust track record of scientific, clinical, and academic success; proven leadership skills to collaborate and build a successful interdisciplinary patient-centered program; and experience and ability leading clinical trials in medical oncology. An established track record of extramural funding and ongoing work in cancer research is preferred.
