Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Die Setter/Press Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of presses and machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, precise tooling setups, and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the manufacturing of precision parts in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate stamping presses
- Install, align, and adjust tooling, dies, fixtures, and other components to ensure proper operation and product quality.
- Read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately interpret project requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure products meet quality standards.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks including fabrication, tooling setup, packaging, and materials handling to optimize workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating stamping presses
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CAM programming, CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings using GD&T standards.
- Experience with CNC programming or CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Factory experience in a manufacturing facility or production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures including the use of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
