    Description

    Schottenstein Stores Corporation is currently looking for an experience Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team This Sr. Tax proffesional will be responsible for assisting in all areas of tax, including but not limited to: Federal, State, and Local Income Tax Compliance [for S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Foundations, and Individuals] for a wide variety of businesses engaged in retail, real estate, licensing and investing activities with some exposure to international taxation.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Research and maintain a body of knowledge to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local tax laws for all legal entities for all tax types.

    Develop processes to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local tax laws for all legal entities for all tax types. Assist business unit in applying processes.

    Accurate and timely preparation and completion of Federal, State, and Local tax laws for all legal entities for all tax types; including all related analysis, reconciliation, and support

    Ensure the accuracy of estimated and extension tax payment calculations and the timely filing of related returns, vouchers, and electronic funds transfer.

    Resolve income tax related issues as they relate to the accounting general ledger and for income tax related journal entries.

    Manage and respond to inquiries/notices form tax authorities.

    Assist with responses to Federal, State or Local tax audits.

    Act as a liaison with operating management, accounting team and general accounting team on tax issues.

    Collaborate with Director of Tax on tax planning, provide tax estimates and projected cash requirements to meet tax obligations

    The ideal candidate will meet the following required requirements:

    Bachelors degree in, accounting required

    Must have 5+ years of relevant tax experience; Public accounting a plus

    Certified public accountant required
