Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Under the direction of the HMIS Data Coordinator, the HMIS Data Analyst is responsible for leading all system wide data analysis activities as well as working with the HMIS team to ensure the System Administration, Data Quality and Reporting configurations are accurate.

The position requires the ability to develop an independent work plan as well as ability to work with all members of the database team technical operations conducting training and technical assistance to end users for HMIS and our Coordinated Entry project and facilitating workflow for ESG-CV reporting.

This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating the agency website and social media.


Data Analysis

  • Develop and maintain Data Analysis Standard Operating Procedure
  • Participate in data analysis and the creation of visualizations using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and other data sources as needed.
  • Analyze projectlevel and systemlevel trends and be able to produce presentations outlining trends
  • Provide consistent Analysis of current trends to previous years
  • Ability to deliver analysis, presentations and other deliverables on time and within the guidelines provided
  • Develop and oversee dashboards showing progress on performance indicators intended for public consumption
  • Support the understanding and advocacy for data analysis and integrity to end homelessness.
  • Participate in the creation of shareable materials to queue stakeholders/funders into data analysis findings
  • Support the solicitation and incorporating of feedback from stakeholder groups when analyzing data, including diversity in experience, identity, expertise, and perspective
  • Utilize existing tools such as HUD's Stella to help in data analysis
  • Identity issues and develop action steps for data clean up or training. Conduct/Assist in the creation and presentation of training materials.
  • Support system initiatives by recommending and implementing regular data analysis as new initiatives develop.
  • Respond to agency and enduser requests for technical assistance, support, and training needs on the helpdesk

Data Quality and Reporting

  • Support the development and implementation of a Data Quality Plan.
  • Assist in the monitoring of data quality for completeness (client and program) and the running of data quality/validation reports.
  • Support the Point In Time Count, Longitudinal Statistical Analysis, Annual Performance Report, CAPER, and Housing Inventory Count etc.

Operations and Administrative Support

  • Work closely with HMIS team to understand technical needs and scope out potential solutions in HMIS.
  • Participate in RICEH Internal operations including attending meetings, serving on committees, participating in fundraising, communication and/or Policy and Advocacy Initiatives as assigned.
  • Support the reviewing of HMIS data standards updates for correctness and completeness, the testing of new features and functionality within HMIS and and other data sources, and any applicable inquiries that come through the Helpdesk.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:


  • 3+ years professional experience working in computer science, data analytics, database administration, or related field.
  • Baccalaureate degree in computer science, data analysis, social work, public policy, and/or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation and outcome measurement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, other similar tools) including the ability to develop charts and graphs
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, preferably using specified software (e.g. tableau, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail
  • Effective communicator and facilitator
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully with diverse populations
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and appropriate vehicle insurance

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters degree in computer science, data analysis, social work, public policy, and/or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in HMIS, reporting, regulations, and best practices
  • Passion for ending homelessness and housing first principles
  • Bilingual speaker (Spanish)
  • Love of food, sense of humor, and inquisitive nature

Pay:
$55, $60,000.00 per year
