Job Summary:


Role and Responsibilities:

• Review construction documents and drawings to identify piping materials, specific job requirements, and deviations from standard practices.
• Execute detailed takeoffs of construction documents using estimating software tools.
• Compile takeoffs and equipment summaries into comprehensive project estimates.
• Obtain pricing for specialty materials and solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• Draft and finalize proposals, bid forms, and cost breakouts.
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
• Coordinate bid calendar for takeoff purposes and attend departmental meetings.
• Review bid documents and specifications for projectspecific requirements.
• Inform immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or database.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 510 years of related experience in commercial plumbing estimation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Leadership skills with the ability to multitask and perform duties in a fastpaced environment.
• Experience with estimating techniques, cost control, and labor/material takeoffs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Bid software.
• Familiarity with the MCAA labor book and industrystandard estimation software such as Estimation Viewpoint or Trimble Autobid.
• Strong critical thinking and technical writing skills for drafting proposals.
• Knowledge of a variety of mechanical and plumbing systems and equipment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detailoriented and committed to accuracy in all aspects of work.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
