Sargent Manufacturing ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Product Test Technician to join our Access & Egress Hardware Team.As a Product Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our mechanical and electromechanical products through meticulous testing and analysis.
You will be responsible for conducting test setups, monitoring procedures, and collecting precise data.
This position will sit onsite in New Haven, CT fulltime reporting into the Manager of Test Lab & Model Shop.
What you will be doing
- Conducting test setups, monitoring procedures, and accurately collecting data on mechanical and electromechanical products.
- Generating detailed reports and offering comprehensive interpretations of test results.
- Troubleshooting fixture issues and performing necessary repairs to maintain optimal testing conditions.
- Reviewing test requests, test reports, and maintaining meticulous records of all testing activities.
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to review testing methodologies and develop innovative methods and fixtures to meet evolving customer requirements.
- Serving as a direct point of contact for customers regarding test issues and results.
- Ensuring the maintenance of a professional and organized lab environment.
- Undertaking additional duties as assigned by management.
What we are looking for
- Mechanical inclination and proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment.
- Competency in utilizing force, torque, temperature, and voltage meters.
- Demonstrated innovation and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ISO17025 procedures.
- Familiarity with BHMA and UL testing procedures.
- Previous exposure to a laboratory environment.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electromechanical products.
