Duties for this role may include rooming patients, ordering supplies,.

prior authorizations, assisting in procedures set up (in clinic fluoroscope, cystoscopes, stent pulls, prostate biopsy, URONACs in clinic), changing catheters, administering medications including BCG chemotherapy, lupron, and Degarelix under the direction of the RN.


This position will work primarily with one provider but also support 3 additional department providers in the clinic when primary MD is not in the office.

Travel may be required to Ripon and Waupun locations.

Job Summary:

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license.


Job Responsibilities and Requirements:


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the wellbeing of patients.
  • Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.
  • May documents the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as discharge/followup instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • May transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications. Completes patient's charts by transcribing results of any labs, xrays, or other evaluations. Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders, to ensure the patient's workup is complete so that the provider is able to make treatment decisions regarding that patient.
  • May transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the oncall physician.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

EXPERIENCE

  • No experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 025 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 2550 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
