- Maintains awareness of current quality and safety measures on the unit and follows guidelines or reporting measures to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Provides appropriate support to team members assigned to the patient and delegates responsibilities to team members within their scope of practice and competency level to address the needs of the patient in an efficient and patient centric manner.
- Collaborates with other staff to organize the daily workload, prioritize care, and adjust to patient crises and emergencies to assure quality patient care and improvement in the care processes.
- Adheres to and departmental policies and procedures and individualizes them to meet patient needs to maintain compliance with organizational, state and federal policy and maintain patient satisfaction.
- Provides constructive feedback regarding registered nurse's technical performance with leadership to ensure technical skills are in line with organizational standards and interdepartmental protocols.
- Assists with staffing functions such as annual performance appraisals, recruitment interviews and candidate selection process
- Participates in the development, implementation and communication of new procedures, policies and the development of quality improvement measures to improve the quality of patient care with a multi-disciplinary approach and maintain accreditation and safety compliance or other regulations.
- Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position.
- Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse Acute Team Lead (TL) functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self development, and teamwork.
The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
The Registered Nurse Acute TL is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.
This individual provides guidance to facilitate optimal department operations, oversee technical functions and oversee workflow responsibilities to ensure safe and effective patient care.
The Registered Nurse Acute TL is a role model and facilitator working in collaboration with various levels of department personnel.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required:
Diploma or degree in nursing.
Preferred/Optional:
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required:
Two years' experience in medical or nursing related field. Demonstrated Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred/Optional:
One year of experience in a team leader role.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required:
Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License Compact License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
