- Manage all aspects of the organization's financial activities, including general accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and monitor budgets, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the organization's financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Work closely with auditors and other external stakeholders to ensure successful financial audits and compliance reviews.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support programmatic initiatives and long-term planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- CPA REQUIRED
- 5-8+ years progressive accounting experience
- Non-profit accounting and grant allocation experience required
- 3+years Supervisory experience required
- Federal grants experience and indirect cost rate experience/NICRA experience
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to non-profit organizations.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems; experience with accounting software such as ERPs, NetSuite, or similar platforms is advantageous.

Our client, a very well-known, international non-profit in Washington, DC is looking to hire a Controller to their team The Controller will report directly to the CFO and supervise 3 staff members. As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the organization's mission of creating positive change.
This role is hybrid with 2 days/week onsite in the office, and 3 days remote
