Job Summary

  • This position will be responsible for leading Charles River's Global Public Relations with a focus on Corporate and telling our Corporate Citizenship story. This role will spearhead strategic and multistakeholder public relations initiatives within our Corporate Communications team, aimed at fostering and developing a positive image of CRL to customers, employees, the news media and public at large. You are responsible for developing and executing the overall public relations strategy and managing the daytoday working relationship with our Public Relations (PR) agency partner and develop close relationships with toptier media.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage crisis situations and high stress situations with poise. Your strategic counsel will inform decision making processes and guide the courses of action to address proactive opportunities and manage potential challenges that may arise.

Strategy: Instrumental in creating integrated multi-stakeholder public relations/comms strategy that aligns to the strategic imperatives of CRL. Create and implement scalable, measurable and strategic public relations strategies that align with our business needs.

Data Analytics & Technology: Leverage data to analyze the communications landscape and stakeholder insights to guide strategic planning and business decisions. Stay on trend with various digital platforms that are key in influencing public relations perceptions.

External Partnerships: Responsible for building and managing effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and collaborating with partner companies, media, etc. on joint communication efforts.

CRL Projects: Will drive ad-hoc projects that have a communications and public relations component, as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field
-
Experience: 10 years of public relations experience in global Fortune 500 or larger organization.

Certification/Licensure: N/A

-
Other: Proven track record developing and executing strategic and measurable external public relations programs, and leading high performing teams, excellent written/verbal communications skills, demonstrated skills in leveraging data to drive business decisions, experience in crisis management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced or Master's degree preferred

WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional travel may be required, based on business needs (<10% of the time)

The pay range for this position is $150K - $170K USD.

Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
