Position Summary:
The Program Manager, Business Growth is a high performer responsible for delivering excellent technical expertise to Chamber members while implementing the organization's business growth services, programs, and initiatives to drive success of area businesses.
A proven Subject Matter Expert, this individual is a key member of the Chamber's Business Growth team, who reports directly to the VP of Economic Growth, and works alongside the other Economic Growth Program Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist with program implementation
- Program/event facilitation and coordination
- Department communication coordination
- Day of event logistics
- Volunteer and council management
Achieving Essential Responsibilities
- Manages Chamber programming as assigned, including Center for Economic Inclusion (initiative to strengthen and grow diverse-owned business representation) programming. Examples include West Michigan Minority Contractors, Diverse-Business Certifications, Diversify Your Spend, Mosaic Business Collective (Minority Business Councils), etc.
- Provides vision and direction to colleagues regarding event themes and topics related to business needs and trends.
- Provides technical assistance (certifications, business plans, etc.) to members through coaching and 1:1 consultation with business leaders.
- Conducts business outreach for small-to-medium-sized businesses to gain awareness, build relationships, and support growth needs. Collects formal and informal data and feedback from members.
- Attends community networking events to connect with current and prospective members and serves on community boards/committees as an active leader within the greater community.
- Works with event speakers to facilitate programs and meet objectives.
- Attends internal meetings to ensure all aspects of events and programs are accounted for.
- Develops run of show and drafts program scripts for designated events, alongside Chamber Marketing team.
- Integrates the Chamber's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals within business services programs and initiatives, collaborating frequently with Leadership & Inclusion teams for alignment.
- Actively demonstrates commitment to the Chamber's vision, mission, and organizational goals.
- Acts as a champion for EOS both internally and externally.
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
- Assists events team with space set up for various events and programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received:
General Direction:
Plans and arranges own work. Uses a wide range of procedures to accomplish assigned objectives.
Takes on program details with little or no direction or oversight with a full understanding of the Chamber's scope of solutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities of staff. Provides team and thought leadership within Business Growth Department and larger Programs and Services team.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Marketing Management or similar
- At least 5 years professional experience and two (2) years of experience in Program Management.
- Fluent in spanish preferred.

Technical Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

- Must possess background and experience working with business leaders.

- Must be comfortable working extended hours, including some nights and weekends, if needed.
- Must be able to travel, mostly regionally.
- Atlas database or other CRM experience.
- Strong detail orientation.
