Description

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and competitive pricing
Source and purchase high-quality ingredients, supplies, and equipment for the restaurant
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms
Monitor inventory levels and manage stock levels to minimize waste and optimize storage space
Work closely with the culinary team to identify ingredient requirements and ensure consistency in quality and sourcing
Collaborate with the finance team to manage purchasing budgets and track expenses
Stay informed about market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings or product innovation
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards in all purchasing activities

Oversee and ensure Market produce is fully stocked at all times

other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Proven experience in food purchasing or procurement, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with purchasing software or inventory management systems
Knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field is a plus
Certification in purchasing or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus
