Salary:
$22.26 to $27.49 annually, depending on qualifications. Competitive Leave and benefits package including Pension. 40-hour work week.


Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Administrative Assistant provides skilled administrative and clerical work providing support to the daily operations of Public Works, including Water, Sewer, Highway, Engineering, Facilities, and Administration.

The position is responsible for performing a variety of duties which involve daily contact with residents, businesses, staff, vendors, and contractors.

A commitment to customer service is paramount.

The Administrative Assistant is required to use tact, discretion and flexibility around day-to-day responsibilities and performs moderately complex administrative duties.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Three (3) to five (5) years of office administrative experience in a fast-paced office setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Municipal experience preferred. Experience with Google G-Suite and MUNIS preferred.


Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:


  • Knowledge of public administration policies and practices preferred.
  • Working knowledge of public works department operations preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Ability to recognize department priorities and work cooperatively and collaboratively to support their accomplishment.
  • Skill in office organization, writing, interpersonal/collaborative communication, resourcefulness and discretion; excellent administrative, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and Google G-Suite in a corporate/office environment and other related financial programs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Permitting and municipal experience preferred.

Pay:
$ $27.49 per hour
