Reporting to the Manager, Outbound Logistics, this position is responsible for assisting and supporting logistics strategies, identifying cost and service improvement initiatives and supporting the daily logistics operations of DC's in the FBIN network.


POSITION LOCATION/HYBRID/REMOTE:
HYBRID WITH BASE IN BUTLER, IN; EDGERTON, OH; HOWE, IN, LAGRANGE, IN, OR MAUMEE, OH.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Function as daily outbound operations support specialist for multiple business operations across multiple modes of shipment (Truck, LTL, Parcel).
  • Collaborate cross functionally to meet all transportation needs of the organization by supporting departmental projects and function as a project lead to support transportation initiatives and objectives.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for both cost and service initiatives through data analysis with internal and external customer engagement.
  • Support transportation budget goals by selecting lowest cost transportation solutions that meets customer expectations.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate outbound transportation problems to ensure seamless operations with our external and internal Logistics customers.
  • Provide support for TMS initiatives and enhancements under set timelines.
  • Analyze freight spend data by region, carrier, mode, and customer to understand trends and mitigate risk.
  • Provide transportation expertise and system support to our external and internal FBIN customers to support our FBIN operations in the logistics and distribution functions.
  • Research and resolve transportation delivery and distribution center issues by maintaining communication with internal customers on related pickup and delivery concerns.
  • Constructively challenge standard process approaches in place to deliver cost savings and improved services to our FBIN customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or other business related focus
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of logistics experience is required
  • MS Office experience (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • ERP system experience (preferably Oracle or SAP)
  • Transportation Management System experience (preferably Mercury Gate or Oracle OTM)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize efforts
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and problem solve
  • Ability to be a leader of change
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on sound rationale and alignment with FBIN's operational standards and goals.
