Job Summary

TGS Civil Construction group is looking for a qualified entry level Civil Estimator to join an extraordinary project team.

While this is an individual role, you will be involved in many facets of construction with the ability to evolve our existing operations.

As the Civil Estimator, you will support the team leader on estimating duties and responsibilities including pre-construction, material procurement, project estimation, contract administration and closeout, identifying and mitigating risk, and project financial setup and maintenance.


Responsibilities:


  • Completes detailed and itemized material quantity estimates.
  • Determines accurate quantities related materials as measured from provided plan sets.
  • Identifies materials required for the construction of facilities.
  • Research plans and specifications to determine any special material requirements. Precures, picksup and returns plan sets as required.
  • Execute material quantity takeoff and prepare estimates for the projects.
  • Prepare/review reports on progress, material costs and adjust work schedules accordingly.
  • Procure and mobilize material & equipment, staff labor for all the projects.
  • Ensuring labor and equipment meet their maximum productivity.
  • Communicates with design engineer for any special material.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • New college graduate with a minimum bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
  • Prior internship experience in related work is a plus.
  • Considerable knowledge of the construction industry is required.
Software knowledge

  • Prior knowledge in HCSS HeavyBid is a plus.
  • Estimation and quantity takeoff softwares like Agtek Materials 4D, VU 360, CAD, Bluebeam, Excel etc.
Minimum License Requirements
Requires a valid Texas driver's license.
