Plumbing & Drywall experience preferredGeneral PurposeThe MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT provides quality maintenance functions to facility in accordance with all laws, regulations and Company standards are met.
Working Conditions:
Works in office as well as throughout facility (i.e., resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary)Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hoursSubject to frequent interruptionsInvolved with residents, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
under all conditions and circumstancesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etcWorks beyond normal working hours, on weekends and in other positions temporarily as necessarySubject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work dayPossible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.

Specific Requirements:
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the long-term care facilityMust possess willingness to work harmoniously with and professional and non-professional personnelMust have the ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of maintenance department
Essential Functions:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English languageMust be able to move intermittently throughout the workdayMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residentsMust be able to assist with preventive maintenance, repairs and replacementsMust be able to inspect equipment /systems regularly for proper functioning and safetyMust be able to runs errands, handle incoming and outgoing freight, lift and move heavy furniture and equipmentMust be able to practice dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to lift 40 lbs floor to waist; lift 10 lbs waist to shoulder; lift and carry 40 lbs; and push/pull 40 lbs
