This position offers an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule with a minimum 2-day work in office.


YOUR FUTURE TEAM


As part of TCEQ's Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


As a part of the Remediation Division's Technical Program Support Team, our Program Management Specialist will play a key role in achieving TCEQ's mission.


You would use your skills and experience to:

  • Supervise the activities of team staff which include ecological risk assessments, chemistry and laboratory technical support, quality assurance planning and compliance, and division database and Geographic Information System (GIS) support and reporting.
  • Coordinate and monitor the progress of work ensuring appropriate communication from staff. Review work products and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Perform human resource management functions to include hiring, staff development, and performance management. Mentor and assist staff to ensure work objectives are accomplished and promotes individual professional development.
  • Respond to management, customer, legislative, and media requests. Communicate technical information effectively with management, staff, and internal and external customers.

Qualifications

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with ecological risk assessments.
  • Experience supervising and managing technical staff.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.

OR...

  • Graduation from an accredited fouryear college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
