  • Under the general direction of the Manager of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs and the Assistant Director of the Office of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs (OLRA), the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I Specialist will serve as project manager for regulations projects for the Department and its Divisions, including the California Geologic Energy Management Division, Division of Mine Reclamation, State Mining and Geology Board, and Division of Land Resource Protection. The incumbent will prepare required documents for the rulemaking process and coordinate public outreach, responses to public comments, and finalization of rulemaking packages for submission to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL). The incumbent will work with issues of extreme sensitivity that have statewide importance and are integral to carrying out the Department's mission.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.

If it is determined an applicant does not meet Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Downtown Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.

At least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position.
