Emerson College's Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is looking for a part-time law clerk to, under attorney supervision, review and propose edits for affiliation agreements, assist with legal research, perform other legal work, and help generally support the office's operations.
This position will independently manage and track assignments to ensure that they are prioritized and completed in accordance with stated prioritization goals.
Additionally, there will be developmental opportunities to work on longer and more complex projects, such as policy benchmarking and drafting, and work on other special projects for the office.
This position requires strong judgment, appropriate legal training, attention to detail, excellent drafting and writing skills, and an ability to manage project prioritization independently.
The law clerk position is a great opportunity for a current law student to gain real-world experience in an in-house legal practice.

Responsibilities include:
- Review, propose edits for, and escalate questions concerning affiliation agreements or other contracts in accordance with OGC guidelines.
- Conduct legal research and benchmarking as assigned to support the general legal work of the OGC.
- Research, benchmark, draft, and revise policies in accordance with direction from the Deputy General Counsel and other stakeholders.
- Work under the oversight of OGC attorneys on other useful and skillappropriate assignments.
- Maintain organized and accurate records, notes, and documentation of meetings, including followup action items using appropriate discretion.
- Perform other routine administrative tasks, such as document review or administrative office work, to support the OGC's current priorities.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Law degree, or currently attending an ABAaccredited law school, having successfully completed at least one year of study, with a preference for a 1L or 2L law student who plans to work for the office for one or more semesters.
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail required
- Knowledge working with various Google Suite and Microsoft Office platforms, e.g. Excel, Google Slides, etc.
- Ability to multitask competing and timesensitive priorities and a willingness to be agile in supporting OGC operations.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 19.00
