    Description

    Position: HVAC Control Technician

    Openings: 1

    Duration: 6 Month, contract to Hire

    Location: Boston, MA (Traveling to sites throughout Seaport, Somerville, Downtown/Cambridge etc.)

    Qualifications:

    • 2-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field OR at least 2-years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
    • Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation/equipment installation and servicing techniques.
    • PC experience with the ability to program HVAC related software.
    • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.
    • Leadership skills to support the activities of mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical building automation equipment on a job site.
    • Interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

    What you will do:

    • Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
    • Troubleshooting and re-solving basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
    • Respond to basic warranty calls.
    • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
    • Be solution oriented.

    How you will do it:

    • Load system-level controller software.
    • Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc.)
    • Keep management and JCI contractors/customers informed of job progress or issues.
    • Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
    • Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
    • Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
    • Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
    • Follow all safety standards and attend required safety trainings.
    • Have a high regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
    • Provided quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
