Duties:

Perform a variety of nursing assistant care duties, ranging from routine to moderately specialized in nature within patientcare unit(s).
Assist patients with their personal daily living skills, such as, bathing, a.m. care, p.m. care, feeding, etc.
Obtain patient vital signs, height and weight, lab collection, etc.
Document patient information into electronic medical records/system.
Set up equipment and instruments for routine and complex examinations and procedures.
Change linen, position, and turn bedridden patients, initiate measures to prevent skin breakdown.

Requirements:

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
This position requires Childcare Background Check (due to regular contact w/ children or adolescents).
You must undergo a specific initial background checks, investigation and periodic reverification check of multiple agency records to obtain and maintain a suitable determination to occupy a position having regular contact with children.

Specialized Experience: I have at least one year of specialized experience that is equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Service which includes preparing patients for examination, taking patient history and vital signs, assisting providers with procedures, answering patient calls; and utilizing various electronic systems to document patient's chart (i.e., electronic medical record (EMR). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, such as Nursing, Nursing Assistant

Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
