NewcrestImage is hiring a Kitchen Lead for one of newly opening Canopy by Hilton & featuring Ginger Roux a Cantonese Creole restaurant.
NewcrestImage is a premier company in the hospitality space that designs, builds and operates state-of-the-art hotels for the most renowned brands in the industry. We are currently looking for a Sous Chef that has a zest for creativity and looking to make a difference in our establishment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ensure the staff follows all company and brand safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager immediately. handle all duties according to hotel policies and procedures.
Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management immediately.
Oversee and operate ovens, stoves, grilles, microwaves, and fryers to prepare foods. Ensure that all food is prepared at the correct temperatures according to the HACCP guidelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company Food Safety Programs within assigned area of responsibility, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment to ensure sanitary conditions and meet the departments standards, including using sanitizers, required by health department.
Use kitchen tools safely and appropriately, including using appropriate tools to open cartons, boxes, and cans; keeping knives sharpened; using proper knife handling procedures; using correct knives for particular food items or specific tasks; using dry pads when moving hat material, and engaging all appropriate safety devices prior to operating equipment.
Oversee, prepare, and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentations standards, and food preparation checklists, establishing priority items.
Oversee the preparation and menu selection for the restaurant.
Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow Employees.
Must be able to remain upright continuously on a hard surface for an 8-10 hour shift.
Must be able to move a minimum of 20 pounds up to 5 feet high without the aid of another person.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
3 years of related work experience.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Willing to take responsibility and accountability for the team.
Well-groomed and professional in appearance.
Willing to work on weekends and holidays if required.
