Position Overview:
Looking for a new opportunity in the real estate sector? We are in search of a Senior Real Estate Controller/CFO to play a crucial role in our team.
As part of this position, you will lead our commercial property accounting team, working closely with Executive Management to ensure transparent communication on financial matters.
Your expertise will be key in upholding the integrity of our accounting systems, overseeing the closing process, and providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Best Practices Implementation:
Develop and implement best practices for commercial property accounting to align with industry standards
Accounting Policies:
Establish and maintain accounting policies to support organizational financial health and growth
Close Management:
Manage commercial accounting close schedules efficiently to meet internal and client deadlines
Cash Management:
Monitor cash management for properties, including owner distributions and capital calls.
Serve as the primary contact for external accounts to coordinate audits and tax returns.
Provide financial guidance to property personnel, external vendors, and stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibility:
As a Senior Real Estate Controller/CFO, you will lead a dedicated team within the accounting department
Relationship Building:
Strong relationship-building skills internally and externally
Legal Knowledge:
Proficiency in reviewing contracts and legal agreements, such as loan documents
Software Proficiency:
Experience with accounting software like MRI or Yardi is desirable
Education/
Experience:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years in accounting, finance, or related roles, including supervisory experience.
Previous experience in property management and/or commercial real estate is essential.
