Description

Coordinates product, vehicle, and driver availability to dispatch company-owned trucks to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and third parties.


Day-to-Day Role:


  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, efficiency, and service requirements
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, dispatch, route, and track tractors and trailers
  • Develop efficient routes to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely fashion
  • Monitor all trips realtime and effectively coordinate pickups and drop offs
  • Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address routing or emergency issues; escalate as appropriate
  • Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents in order to revise routes as needed
  • Interact with and update customers on the status of their deliveries including potential delays
  • Identify and seek to resolve potential problems
  • Monitor and track drivers' working hours and vehicle usage
  • Interface with supervisor to secure additional drivers, utilize outside carriers, modify existing equipment, or acquire additional equipment to satisfy capacity demands with corporate
  • Enter, record, maintain and track data, logs, reports and other required documentation using ERP or other systems; Ensure regulatory requirements are maintained
  • Create, compile, and deliver required reports

Core Skills and Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year previous automotive freight dispatching experience
  • Quick decisionmaking skills, especially under pressure
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, including a pleasant phone demeanor
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
  • Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and ongoing communications about safety and quality issues

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


  • SAP experience
  • Basic understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
  • Previous Electronic Logging Device (ELD) experience, Omnitracs
