- Promotes and protects the optimal health status of school-age children
- Provides health assessments
- Obtains a health history and keeps track of students' vaccination records
- Screens and evaluates findings of deficits in vision, hearing, growth, etc.
- Develops and implements a student health plan when needed
- Utilizes existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students
- Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
- Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
- Works collaboratively with other nurses in the district
- Dispenses students' prescribed medications
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
- Tracks visits to health room and documents all visits
- Other duties as needed to meet needs of students in building
- Complete an application through Frontline found on the district website. Submit a letter of interest, resume, evidence of certification, and three (3) current letters of recommendation.
