    Job Summary:
    Acts as the on-site administrative designee for the entire facility during off-shifts and weekends. Manages all patient care departments to ensure quality care and compliance with regulations.

    Essential Responsibilities:
    • Manages off-hours and weekend patient care activities, ensuring staff provides high-quality care and complies with regulations.
    • Coordinates and monitors staffing for all shifts, maintains appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
    • Participates in developing, reviewing, and updating departmental policies and procedures.
    • Identifies and implements best practices to improve quality care and services.
    • Assesses and monitors clinical nursing practice for optimal patient care.
    • Acts as a patient advocate and designs processes to enhance patient care results and systems.
    • Follows up on clinical issues and ensures care meets patients' needs.
    • Supervises staff, assesses their needs, and identifies educational opportunities.
    • Manages human resources, safety, and risk management issues within the department.
    • Collaborates with all departments in the medical center and assists in budget development and cost reduction.
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience required.
    • Minimum two (2) years of related leadership experience.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with RN License (California) and BLS/ACLS certifications.
    Additional Requirements:
    • Evidence of training completion as preceptor or charge nurse.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, and regulatory requirements.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Minimum one (1) year of critical care or emergency department nursing experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in nursing.

    Location: California, Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek Hospital
    Hours Per Week: 24
    Work Schedule: Part-time, Night shifts on a rotating basis.
