    Description

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Patient Care Coordinator/Scheduler will serve as the main point of contact for patient scheduling, registration and coordination for the Gastro Eagleview office. This individual will provide exceptional customer service while performing administrative duties such as insurance verification and authorization, patient interaction, and support to the clinical staff.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate patient care by checking schedules and arranging patient flow
    • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, verify demographic and insurance information and enter into the EMR
    • Recognize any changes in patient's condition and convey information to clinical team
    • Accurately enter charges and payment information for all services performed
    • Collect and document all required consents and forms
    • Schedule appointments and radiological testing procedures for respective physician sites and based on patient's specific needs
    • Confirm and remind patients of scheduled appointments and give patients standardized preliminary clinical instructions and directions in preparation for a scheduled office visit or procedure
    • Ensure insurance coverage is properly prioritized and verified, and all benefits and eligibility checked for all scheduled patients
    • Process physician's referrals and orders accurately and enter tests into the EMR
    • Communicate effectively and maintain a positive working environment when manager is not present

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
    • Intermediate computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
    • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
