General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is looking for a Community Health Outreach Coordinator to join our team


The Community Health Outreach Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Healthy Start Program in Prince George's County, Maryland.

Under the direction of the Director of Population and Community Health, the coordinator will be responsible for various tasks such as grant management, maternal health education, and outreach organization aimed at enhancing community health and well-being as well as teaching perinatal health classes and programs.


Primary Duties:


  • Responsible for managing the programs and events calendar. Develop, implement, and oversee the Healthy Start Program in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Obtains appropriate staffing for programs and events. Oversee the accurate and timely entry of data related to program activities.
  • Develop and deliver educational materials and resources related to women's health issues. Leads grantfunded projects as assigned. Serves as lead educator for maternal and child health programming.
  • Program Support
  • Coordinates and assists with department and hospital projects to address maternal and child health. Develops and assists with community activities to address social determinants of health. Identifies community groups and organizations for potential partnerships in community consortia and maternal and child health initiatives. Attend HRSA meetings and meetings of community partners as assigned.
Maintains comprehensive data tracking, including preparing and tracking correspondence, grant monthly and annual reports, documents, contracts, and payments
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.-
  • Working experience in community health or health education.-
  • Certified Health Education Specialist preferred.-
  • Master's degree preferred.-
  • Project management within a healthcare environment preferred.-
  • Experience teaching in a group setting preferred.
