    Title: Assistant Branch Manager

    Location: UTK Student Union Branch Location



    SUMMARY:

    Reports to the Retail Manager and assists in the operation of the branch office. Provides specific lending, operational, and member service functions as delegated by the Retail Manager, including direct supervision of the branch staff in the absence of the Retail Manager.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Oversee scheduling, staffing, training, and assignment of duties
    • Ensure timely completion of tasks
    • Prepare cash letters and handle returned item processing
    • Assist subordinates during peak times to maintain service quality
    • Manage cash levels and balance daily teller transactions
    • Implement internal audit policies and procedures
    • Provide information to members, process financial services, and interview loan applicants
    • Examine and authorize borrower's applications for credit
    • Analyze lending opportunities and prepare necessary reports
    • Perform other duties assigned by the Retail Manager

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist in supervising employees, planning work, training, and addressing performance-related issues.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

    Must have a deep understanding of credit union services and operational policies, display leadership qualities, and maintain a professional demeanor.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    An individual must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, with a high school diploma and one to three years of related experience in a financial institution.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or equivalent with one to three years of experience in a financial institution.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to communicate effectively with borrowers and colleagues.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Proficient in basic mathematical operations.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Proficiency in using office equipment and machines.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Ability to effectively talk, hear, and perform various physical tasks.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Encounter a moderate noise level in the work environment.

    MENTAL DEMANDS:

    Requires persuasion, good judgment, auditory perception, memory, and reasoning ability.
