Objective and Purpose:


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all required tax returns, including federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other regulatory filings.
  • Manage the tax planning process, including identifying opportunities for tax savings, conducting tax research, and providing recommendations to optimize the company's tax position.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the potential impact on the company's tax strategy and operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on taxrelated matters, including financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business expansion initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and government agencies as needed to address taxrelated issues and inquiries.
  • Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to support their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the company's overall financial objectives.
  • Prepare and present taxrelated reports and presentations to senior management and the board of directors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures related to tax matters and support the company's overall risk management efforts.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 8 plus years of experience in tax compliance and planning, with a focus on corporate taxation.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including knowledge of international tax principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and developing a team of tax professionals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in multisite environments.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant status highly desired.
  • Experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department.

Work Conditions:


Salary:
$150,000 to $160,000 / annum

Location: 1800 West Loop S., Suite 2000 Houston, TX 77027
