Description
Saint John's University operates the Münchberg and Naila clinics in municipal self-administration.

The two hospitals, with a total of 400 beds, provide basic and standard care and have main departments in internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics/trauma surgery, acute geriatrics, anesthesia and intensive care medicine, as well as affiliated departments in ENT, pneumology, and gynecology.


The central anesthesia department provides care for approximately 7,000 patients at both locations, ranging from infants to the elderly, with around 2,400 regional anesthesias in 7 operating rooms.

The department also manages the intensive care unit (currently 17 beds), intermediate care unit, 1 recovery room, and 1 pre-medication outpatient clinic.

During the day, the department also provides emergency medical services at both locations (optional secondary activity at night). The department is well-equipped with modern technology.

A new intensive care unit was recently opened at the Naila location, and a new operating room is currently being built in another construction phase.

At the Münchberg location, a new functional area with a modern operating room and ICU/IMC is also being built.
