Job Summary:
The manufacturing process engineer serves as a technical reference to the maintenance team and is the main technical link between plant and corporate engineering.
This position is also responsible for new product launches and leading problem-solving activities for the facility.Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety while ensuring regulatory requirements are met in all process engineering activities.
Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time and improve product quality. Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste and increase efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new processes, technologies, and equipment including creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Monitor and analyze process data, identifying trends and proposing solutions for process improvement continuously. Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets. Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as cycle time, yield and scrap rate and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies, and best practices. All other duties assigned and necessary to perform the job.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering related field, preferred or High School Diploma/GED with equivalent experience, required. Mechanical or electrical engineer with at least 5 years of experience, preferred. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred. Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, reliability best practices, Six Sigma methodologies and statistical analysis, preferred. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues, preferred. Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949, preferred. Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards, preferred. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, preferred. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, preferred. Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
