JOB SUMMARY:

Provides tire repair and maintenance for department vehicles. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.


Responsibilities:


  • Repairs and maintains tires and tire equipment for department vehicles.
  • Maintains available inventory of all service center vehicles and equipment; tires, tubes, and wheels.
  • Makes road calls to install tires on department vehicles, as needed.
  • Inspects tools and equipment used in tire repair and requests replacement equipment as needed.
  • Cleans, inspects, restores, and reassembles rims and rings to safe working condition.
  • Balances tire and wheel after assembly.
  • Coordinates with supervisor regarding upcoming equipment usage.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Two years job related experience including thorough knowledge of tire and wheel maintenance.
  • Knowledge of tire sensors and placement; knowledge of tractors, high water vehicles and emergency vehicles.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize own work.
  • Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License.

SALARY RANGE:
$ $22.00 hourly based on qualifications
