POSITION OVERVIEW
SteerBridge seeks an
Electrical Engineer (CM-EE)
to provide Construction Management Services supporting infrastructure upgrades
located at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.
The
CM-EE
will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the administration of construction, design/build, engineering, and facilities management for complex-construction projects.
Services will include, but not limited to, pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration services, and technical specialty services.
REQUIRED
Must
be
authorized
to
work
in the U.S.
Must be eligible and able to pass a federal background check, as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
Must provide at a minimum, three (3) examples of projects that reflect the same, similar, or exceeds the scale and difficulty of the Madison EHRM Construction Project.
EDUCATION & YEARS OF EXPERIENCEThe CM-EE shall be a licensed professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering from an
accredited institution of higher learning
.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The individual shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
The CM-EE shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.
The CM-EE must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.
Professional experience shall include the ability to read and interpret construction documents, as well as communicate effectively with project construction team members.
Experience on healthcare projects/facilities shall be preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES
CM-EE shall provide EHRM project construction management and shall provide decisive direction in regard to business, technical and project management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities.
They shall maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and shall lead the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
Healthcare experience and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure construction projects preferred.Required Construction Project Management Skills
Electrical Engineering Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and installations, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, and renewable energy systems
Construction Management:
Ability to manage and oversee all aspects of electrical construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Project Management:
Proficiency in project management principles and practices, including project planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling, to ensure successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Building Codes and Standards:
Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Code (IBC), to ensure compliance and regulatory approval.
Design and Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate implementation of electrical designs and plans.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Skill in implementing quality control measures and performing inspections to ensure electrical work meets design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Construction Safety:
Understanding of electrical safety practices, regulations, and protocols to identify and mitigate electrical hazards and ensure a safe working environment for construction personnel.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with project teams, contractors, clients, and regulatory authorities, including preparing reports and documentation.
Ability to identify and resolve electrical-related issues, challenges, and conflicts in a timely and efficient manner to keep projects on track and within budget.
Team Leadership:
Leadership skills to lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including electrical engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and technicians, to achieve project goals and objectives.
Budget and Cost Management:
Proficiency in managing project budgets, tracking costs, and controlling expenses related to electrical work to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
Time Management:
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards and client expectations.
Contract Management:
Knowledge of contract administration, including negotiating and managing contracts with electrical contractors, suppliers, and vendors, to ensure compliance with project requirements and terms.
Regulatory Compliance:
Understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to electrical construction projects, including electrical codes, permits, and inspections.

A salary commensurate with experience shall be offered.
