Duties:


An NGA CI Analyst conducts all-source intelligence analyses to provide customers with an enhanced understanding of the foreign intelligence entity (FIE) threat to NGA personnel, facilities, programs, and technologies, and support counterintelligence activities including collections, investigations and operations.

Researches, plans, prepares, integrates, and publishes counterintelligence products (assessments, analysis reports, threat advisories, and functional support) for specific regional and/or functional areas (e.g., Middle East, critical programs, foreign partnerships, supply chain) to communicate the counterintelligence threat.

Identifies significant trends within assigned functional or regional area(s) and proposes new or revised analytical projects to alert decision makers to new developments and to meet customer requirements.

Develops and strengthens substantive ties with other government organizations and with other intelligence community analysts and collectors. Serves as an Agency representative on working groups with functional or multidisciplinary emphasis that involve counterintelligence issues. Plans and develops internal strategies and participates in meetings to provide advice and assistance to resolve problems.

  • Conducts research and analysis of foreign intelligence activities and programs; monitors intelligence reporting, identifies significant trends or threats, and recommends analytic priorities
  • Prepares formal NGA counterintelligence assessments; establishes baseline capabilities, updates assessments, and alerts decisionmakers to
new developments or threats to GEOINT missions

  • Responds to requests for analysis and collaborates within the DOD/IC/Law Enforcement community in support of CI investigations or operations
  • Evaluates intelligence needs and gaps and drives collection by developing intelligence information report (IIR) evaluations and contributing to collection requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility.

Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.


Qualifications:


MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:

For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required).

  • Demonstrated experience conducting all-source analysis and producing intelligence in support of national security interest.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating intelligence/analytic products with other organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating complex concepts and analyses orally (e.g., briefings) and in writing (e.g., analysis reports).
  • Demonstrated experience using intelligence analysis tools and databases to conduct in-depth research and produce analytic products based on all sources of information.


After assignment to the work role, CI Analysts must complete intelligence analysis tradecraft training and/or DoD All-Source certification, as directed by management.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:

  • Two or more years conducting counterintelligence (CI) analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing the foreign collection threat to critical programs and technologies, especially geospatial-related technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting all-source analysis in support of CI investigations, collections, operations, and/or functional services.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting supply chain threat analysis in support of Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM).
  • Completion of advanced analytic training through an IC curriculum, for example, IC Advanced Analyst Program (ICAAP), Career Analyst Program (CAP), or Professional Analyst Career Education
(PACE).

  • Possess professional all-source analysis certification, for example, Certified DoD All-Source Analyst I (CDASA-I).
