The Work


This individual will be responsible for partnering with Operations leadership to align HR and LR objectives with business needs and will serve as the HR Site Lead for two sites - Trumbull, CT and Shelton, CT.


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic and tactical HR & labor relations support to a client group consisting of both represented and non-represented employees
  • Execute key HR deliverables such as talent acquisition and development, employee engagement and retention, diversity, salary planning, and organizational design.
  • Lead and facilitate change initiatives using HR consultation skills. Advice and counsel managers on a variety of topics to optimize employee engagement, team development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Counsel Managers and employees on HR procedures, performance and career planning.
  • Effectively execute HR processes including talent acquisition and development, Performance Management, diversity and compensation programs.
  • Partner with employment counsel as appropriate to objectively assess and bring employee relations issues to resolution.
  • Coach and train leaders on how to effectively manage employees both represented and nonrepresented.
  • Represent management in collective bargaining with unions representing company employees.
  • Study, prepare for, and advise on matters pertaining to contract negotiation, grievance cases, arbitrations, conciliations, federal and state labor legislation, etc.
  • Lead and/or participate in special Labor & Employee Relations /HR projects and initiatives as required.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Experience as an HR Generalist or Labor Relations Rep, and/or experience in a Human Resources functional area.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • Experience fostering change, promoting and implementing improvement and effectively work in a matrix organization.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.

Desired Skills:


  • 8 or more years of HR experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing facility with represented employees.
  • Experience with Labor Relations.
  • Experience with HR data analytics.
  • Experience working with employees at all levels of the organization.

Remote Telework:

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.


Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
