    Clinician - Stamford, United States - Connecticut Renaissance

    Description

    Summary:

    The LYNC clinician will be responsible for providing limited, crisis management oriented individual and family therapy and complete biopsychosocial assessments when needed. The clinician will also help develop the Risk Reduction and Sustainability Plan (RRSP). All LYNC staff are to maintain a culturally, gender and trauma responsive environment working with youth and their families with a focus on identified strengths and skill building.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provided limited, crisis management-oriented individual and/or family therapy as needed.
    • Facilitate crisis intervention and family mediation.
    • Administer biopsychosocial assessments as needed.
    • Asist with running family events.
    • Participate in the development of RRSPs (Risk Reduction and Sustainability Plan).
    • Support individuals and families with engaging with natural and community supports.
    • Maintain compliance in documentation with agency and program standards.
    • Participate in all required internal and external meetings and supervisions.
    • Complete all required internal and external training within required timeframes.
    • Meet and contribute to agency outcomes and performance measures.
    • Adhere to state and federal regulations, and standards of accreditation, facility licensure and funding sources.
    • May perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
    • *The position receives Clinical Supervision from the Clinical Director.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

    Knowledge Of:

    • Juvenile justice programming.
    • Adolescent development and behavioral health.
    • Trauma-, culturally- and gender-responsive principles and services
    • Electronic Healthcare Record systems.
    • General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

    Ability To:

    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
    • Assimilate new information and technology.

    Education and Experience:

    • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling and/or Marriage and Family Therapy with a minimum of two years' experience providing individual and family counseling and Connecticut licensure in behavioral health (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) or associate licensure (LMSW, LMFTA, LPCA). License preferred.
    • Experience working in the juvenile justice population.
    • Risk-needs-responsivity principles and risk reduction initiatives.
    • Bilingual in Spanish or Creole a plus.

    Other:

    • Must be dependable and reliable, detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources.
    • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possess the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License.
    • Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
